Polyethylene Glycol 100 stearate (PEG-100 stearate) is a non-ionic emulsifier derived from petrochemicals and vegetable sources. It has an HLB value of 18.8, producing fluid, silky, and luxurious emulsions. Often combined with other lower HLB value emulsifiers, it stabilizes and extends the shelf life of formulations. It is an effective emollient, creating moisturizing products that form a protective barrier on the skin and support moisture retention. Additionally, it functions as a surfactant, helping to lift oil and dirt from the skin.
